These images are temporary. I plan to use original field photography for the finished book and permanent site.
What I know, and what I still need to check
The Cesuna material currently comes from three places: family history, preliminary conversations, and facts I can verify independently.
I’m keeping those separate. Dates, military events, migration patterns, demographic claims, and other specific assertions will be checked before publication.
Family accounts will be identified as memories or stories passed down, with any uncertainty about historical details made clear.
Interviews and translation
Cesuna interviews are planned in Italian. The original recording and Italian transcript will remain the source. English translations will be checked against them before quotations are published.
I’ll ask separately for permission to record an interview and to publish quotations, photographs, or personal materials.
Psychology
I’ll cite the research behind psychological explanations and distinguish those interpretations from what a participant has said.
Each account will be attributed to the person who gave it. Where residents disagree, I’ll preserve those differences.
Ongoing updates
This source list will be updated as reporting and photography progress.
